The Eighth Trail

Many people don’t fully understand what causes homelessness or know about the support services available. While many want to help, they often find it hard to navigate the complicated system and miss the resources that could really make a difference. This inspired me to create The Eighth Trail.

The Eighth Trail is an interactive scavenger hunt in Perth’s CBD that helps people learn about youth homelessness. Participants find seven small doors, each representing a key cause like domestic violence, family breakdown, and mental health. Each door has a puzzle that reveals digits to unlock the final “Eighth Door”, a life sized installation with personal stories, stats, and helpful support information. This approach raises awareness, builds empathy, and gives practical knowledge so the community can better support young people facing homelessness.
